This is the first TET examination to be held in the state after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power.

The government has taken all possible measures to ensure that the examination is held in a free and fair manner leaving no scope for any controversy.

Assam TET 2019 will be held after a gap of seven years. The last time TET examination was held in 2012 during the erstwhile Congress government.
